  • 2014, The group of Prof. Meyer meet with the fire forecasting collaborators several times to show them initial visualization prototypes and to gather their feedback.

  • 2014/2015, Multiple members of the project team have played a central in organizing a Computing Community Consortium (CCC) Workshop on Uncertainty in Computation.

  • 2015, The cognition groups at Utah (Creem-Regehr, Thompson) and UCSB (Hegarty), in collaboration with Don House at Clemson, completed the human evaluation study using hurricane visualizations.

  • 2015, Dr Kirby and Dr House (and Clemson team) met with collaborators at the National Hurricane Center. They had discussions with the Director, Rick Knabb, and Deputy Director, Ed Rappaport, of the Center, and with the FEMA representative at the NHC, Matthew Green. They also had productive meetings with Technology and Science Branch Chief Mark DeMaria.

  • 2015/2016, The Utah visualization (Meyer) and cognition (Creem-Regehr, Thompson) groups started a multiple projects. This has, so far, resulted in a TVCG paper on binning of 2D scalar fields and a workshop paper at IEEE Vis 2015 conference.

  • 2016, The cognition groups at UCSB and Utah collaborated with the lab of Dr House (Clemson University) on a new study of hurricane visualizations that is reported in a paper in press in Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics.
